Rick Mysse is an entrepreneur and award-winning pitmaster with more than 300 competition awards and multiple Grand Championships earned on the national BBQ circuit. What began as a backyard hobby became a pursuit to master fire and meat through patience and relentless practice. Today, Rick brings that same competition-level approach to Hickory & Spice BBQ restaurant in Orange, which he opened at the ripe age of 68. For this evening at The SLAB, he'll be sharing the craft that earned perfect scores and a reputation as one of Southern California's premier pitmasters.
